Keyword Research Strategy

Keyword research is the analysis of the words that make up the texts to be used on a web page. While doing keyword research, attention is paid to the fact that the words or phrases are relevant to the page and have a high search volume.

There are three basic elements to consider when doing keyword analysis;

  • Relevance of the Words to the Page:  The words to be used on the pages should be chosen related to the website or the page. If choosing a word for a blog post, the words should be relevant to the topic, or if working for a product, the focus should be on the right words for users to search for the product.
  • Search Volume: The search volume gives information about how many users search for the word or phrase monthly. Words with a high search volume should be preferred, but as the search volume increases, the difficulty of getting competition and ranking increases, so words with high competition are preferred. this should be taken into account.
  • User Behavior (User Intent / Search Intent): In keyword research, it is necessary to pay attention to the search intention of the users. Behind the queries searched in search engines is the search intent of the users.

  • Identify Your Target Audience: What are customers searching for? What are the things they focus on? What are their goals? Knowing the audience first helps keyword research.
  • Think About Keywords: It is necessary to think a little about the words to be used on the pages and to identify potential words.
    Keyword Analysis for Product or Service: What queries can users search for the product or service?
    You may also wonder how I would search if it were me.
    Examine the Keywords Competitors Get Traffic From: What words are competitors getting traffic from and what words are they using? This will help you find vocabulary about the industry you are working in.
    Get Help from Online Tools: You can get help from keyword finders. Online tools provide you with detailed data for the words you will use on a website, web page, or a topic. Each tool has its own strategy, it can have weaknesses as well as strengths, so it will help you get more efficient results if you do your word research with the help of more than one tool.
  • Filter Your Keywords: Filter out irrelevant, low search volume, and highly competitive words in the word list you have prepared.
  • Analyze the Competition of Words: Test the competition of each of the filtered words, this study provides information about the difficulties of ranking the words.
